Transport Refrigerators Print E-mail
Apr 01 2008

ImageDometic (Luxemburg) has introduced autonomous transport refrigerators based on an adsorption principle and using insulated containers to transport fresh perishables. The Zeolite technology generates cooling capacity by using Zeolite and water, generating cold with no external energy required. Cold holdover time depends on the ambient temperature, and can exceed 12 hours in an ambient temperature of 32°C.

Mounted on casters for mobility, the insulated body is designed to limit temperature changes. The refrigerators are quipped with a battery to operate the fans that circulate air and ensure temperature distribution inside the container. When the Zeolite charge is exhausted, the unit can be plugged into a standard electrical power source, which also charges the battery.
