The ARMOR™ convertible notebook and ARMOR™ tablet PC from DRS Tactical Systems, a unit of DRS Technologies (Parsippany, NJ), offer data protection technology and sunlightreadable display options. They provide MIL-STD-810F durability and use Intel processors and an array of communications options, including integrated Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and a PCMCIA slot. The computers weigh 5.2 pounds, including batteries.

The convertible notebook has a rugged, die-cast magnesium alloy case that provides IP 54-level protection. The 12.1" outdoor-viewable touchscreen display transforms from a tablet-style computer to a compact notebook with full-size keyboard. The tablet computer features an aluminum DuraCase™ chassis with ShutOut™ sealing technology that meets IP 66-level protection. If has no-flap input connections, and toolfree, hot-swappable battery access. Available in touchscreen and passive pen versions, the 10.4" LCD monitor is outdoor-viewable.
